When to choose a brow lift?

Here are the reasons why people choose a forehead or brow lift at Wellness Kliniek:

  • Drooping eyebrows: As you get older, the skin around the eyes and eyebrows can start to droop. A brow lift can help restore a more youthful appearance. Some people have naturally drooping eyebrows that can give the face a tired or sad look. A brow lift can help create a more open and alert facial expression, contributing to a more positive appearance.
  • Asymmetrical eyebrows: If your eyebrows are uneven or asymmetrical, a brow lift can help create symmetry.
  • Lateral eyebrow lift: Sometimes people choose an eyebrow lift purely for aesthetic reasons, because they want to achieve a certain look or style. B***x injections for forehead lifting, temporal (lateral) brow lift and thread lift eyebrows are therefore popular treatments at Wellness Kliniek.
  • Headache resolution: Eyebrow lift without surgery: low eyebrows, or actually low-hanging eyebrows, can cause a pressing sensation on the eyes. This, in turn, causes headaches. B***x injections can help against headaches or migraines.

Of course, you will receive open and honest advice during a no-obligation consultation. All your questions will be answered. Below, we tell you more about the different types of eyebrow lifts and answer frequently asked questions.

Surgical and non-surgical eyebrow lift

Basically, we can divide eyebrow lift into two different types of eyebrow corrections, namely surgical and non-surgical. We can then break these down again into various treatments. Below, we break down the five options of a brow lift by the surgeons at Wellness Kliniek.

Eyebrow lift B***x (non-surgical lifting)

You choose B***x brow lift to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on your forehead, contributing to a more youthful and fresh appearance. B***x is also used to achieve a subtle lift of the eyebrows, which can help create a more open and alert look.

According to legislation, we are not allowed to write out this brand name in full, but you probably know what we mean when we talk about a brow lift with B***x.

Eyebrow thread lift (non-surgical lifting)

The brow lift with wires, also called brows featherlift, is a technique in which wires (kind of sutures) are used to lift the eyebrows. You can think of these threads as a support, a kind of lifting, a change in positioning. This makes the eyebrows droop less. It is a good choice if you have incipient sagging skin around the eyebrows. The thread lift works with zones, and can be used on other parts of the face besides the eyebrows. The thread lift is less invasive than surgical methods. The treatment can be done under local anaesthetic.

Direct eyebrow lift (surgical lifting)

The direct eyebrow lift is the best way to remove skin directly above the eyebrows. It is a suitable procedure for people with very low-set eyebrows. The direct eyebrow lift is very effective, but it does have the disadvantage of showing a scar above the eyebrows. Of course, this fades over time. The treatment can be done under local anaesthetic.

Temporal brow lift (surgical lifting)

The temporal brow lift is a form of surgical lifting, in which incisions are made at the level of the temples (temples). The incisions are hidden in the hairline, so that it is not or hardly visible that the procedure has been undergone. The temporal brow lift is an ideal choice for men and women with moderate brow sagging. It also offers a solution when it comes specifically to external eyebrow lifting. This is because it targets the outer part of the brows. The treatment can be done under local anaesthetic.

Classic or Coronal forehead lift (surgical lifting)

You may opt for a coronal brow lift when you want to achieve significant correction of the forehead and brow position or if there are deep wrinkles or significant sagging of the brows that cannot be effectively treated with less invasive methods such as B***x or smaller lift procedures. A coronal brow lift is also suitable for individuals who want a longer-lasting result than what non-surgical brow lift treatments can offer.

In the coronal brow lift, an incision is made from ear to ear, behind the hairline, at the top of the head. Excessive hairy scalp is removed. In addition, underlying tissue, like forehead muscles, is adjusted where necessary to lift the eyebrows. The treatment is done under anaesthesia and is usually done in conjunction with a deep plane & SMAS facelift.

Eyebrow lift and eyelid surgery combined (surgical/non-surgical)

Eyebrow lift or brow correction is more than often combined with eyelid correction. Again, there are several options with this procedure, from well to non-surgical lifts. Often, a brow lift involves a combination with an upper eyelid correction. Personal consultation is undoubtedly desirable and even necessary. During the personal consultation, all options of interest to you will be presented to you so that you can make an informed choice.

Frequently asked questions about eyebrow lift

Who is eyebrow lifting suitable for?

Eyebrow lifting is something you can have done at all ages, although it is mostly people with sagging skin around eyes, eyebrows and forehead who opt for this procedure. This is from an aesthetic point of view, as the eyebrows have started to position themselves differently over the years. If you already have naturally low eyebrows, you can also have something done about it earlier. The surgeons at Wellness Kliniek advise you personally, so that you choose the eyebrow lift procedure that best suits what you want to achieve.

What can I expect during the consultation for eyebrow lifts?

The experienced surgeon at Wellness Kliniek will be happy to meet with you in person to examine the position of the eyebrows, the eyes and other facial features. On this basis, the specialist can give sound advice on which procedure will produce which effect. Aesthetic goals as well as expectations and possibilities are discussed. Furthermore, the specialist will also discuss the exact costs, procedure and recovery procedure, so you know what to expect. After that, you can decide whether you want to undergo a brow lift.

How do eyebrow lifts happen?

The actual procedure depends on whether you have non-surgical or surgical eyebrow lifts. For example, B***x is injected, skin is lifted with wires, or part of the skin is removed and reconnected to tighten the eyebrows and rest of the skin. Above, you can read more about the method of treatment and surgery for each type of eyebrow lift. In addition, all your questions will be answered in detail during a no-obligation consultation. You may also contact us at any time if you have any questions in between.

What is an eyebrow lift?

A brow lift (eyebrow lift) is a technique that involves raising the eyebrows higher. This may involve the entire eyebrow, or just the outside of the eyebrows. There are various techniques for eyebrow lifting, surgical with incisions and non-surgical with B***x or wires. Eyebrow lift is regularly combined with an (upper) eyelid correction for maximum effect.

What is eyebrow lift surgery?

By eyebrow lift surgery, we mean a surgical eyebrow lift at the Wellness Kliniek. This includes the classic (Coronal) brow lift, the temporal brow lift and the direct brow lift. All three methods involve making incisions and often removing skin to tighten the skin around the eyebrow.

What is a brow lift without surgery?

Many people wonder if a brow lift without surgery is possible. The answer is positive! A brow lift without surgery can be done in several ways and is also called a non-surgical brow lift. One example is a B***x brow lift, in which a temporary muscle relaxant is injected through injections. Another option is the threaded eyebrow lift.

Please note that the term 'without surgery' actually refers to 'without incision'. This is because while surgery is performed, there is little or no cutting of the skin and no removal of skin.

What is a lateral eyebrow lift?

The lateral eyebrow lift is an eyebrow lift that focuses mainly on moving the outer part of the eyebrow upwards. At Wellness Kliniek, we prefer to call this a temporal brow lift. A small incision is made, falling away into the hairline. The lateral eyebrow lift falls under surgical procedures.

What is an endoscopic eyebrow lift?

In an endoscopic eyebrow lift, several small incisions are made in the hairs, lifting not only the eyebrows, but also the forehead. It is therefore also called an endoscopic forehead lift.

What is a cat eye treatment?

A cat eye treatment, or cat eye lift, is an eyebrow lift performed by wire lifts. This featherlift uses wires to raise the tail of the eyebrow, making the eyebrows straighter and higher. The cat eye brow lift represents more youthfulness and results in a sleek and powerful, feline look.

When to choose eyebrow lift with B***x?

The B***x eyebrow lift is mainly recommended when the eyebrows are clearly felt and visible, droop to some extent, without being too heavy. This is then easily remedied with B***x. The advantage is that the procedure is relatively simple and quick, with no recovery time. However, repeat treatments are recommended.

When to choose a threaded eyebrow lift?

The wires used for thread lift eyebrows treatments dissolve over time. In 6 to 24 months, the wires completely disappear, and the effect of the eyebrow wire lift may be gone. Therefore, a repeat treatment is recommended here once in a while -how long varies from person to person. So why should you opt for a brow lift with wires anyway? Because it is a non-surgical procedure. So it is less invasive than a surgical brow lift.

What is the best eyebrow lift against drooping eyebrows?

Drooping eyebrows not only create a closed and tired look, but can actually exhaust you. The pressure of heavy eyebrows, for example, can give you a headache. Eyebrow lifting through a surgical and direct lift is the most effective option to raise eyebrows in this regard. Of course, we do consider which procedure is the best choice for the desired result.

Eyebrow lift or eyelid correction: which is the best choice?

As you get older, the skin in the face slackens, especially around the eyes and eyebrows. Sometimes only eyelid correction offers relief, sometimes lifting the brows. More often than not, treatment is combined. You schedule a no-obligation consultation so you can get sound and honest advice based on your facial features.

Eyebrow lifts as part of facelift, is it possible?

Yes, if you want to rejuvenate the appearance of the entire face, a facelift might be a better choice for you. During the no-obligation consultation, you will receive detailed information about this, so you can think about it carefully. Would you like to know more about a facelift now? Then read on to our specific treatment pages on facelift and neck lift.

Does eyebrow correction hurt?

No, you won't feel any pain during the procedure. The area is properly anaesthetised by the surgeon at Wellness Kliniek. However, you may feel the stinging of the anaesthetic for a while. With local anaesthesia, you remain awake, but if you wish, you can also undergo treatment under general anaesthesia. After the operation, you may experience a brief burning sensation.

How long does an eyebrow lift take?

Normally, a brow lift takes around 30 to 45 minutes. This time may vary depending on the exact procedure. For example, in combination with an eye lift, it may additionally take a little longer. The length of time will be communicated with you beforehand.

Eyebrow lift recovery: how long does it take and when will I be 'presentable' again?

Eyebrow lift recovery (surgical) takes 1 to 3 weeks. At least until then, swelling may be visible, which will subside on its own within those weeks. After that, you will be well toned again and it will be hardly noticeable that you have had your eyebrows lifted. Most people return to work after a week. If it is a non-surgical threaded eyebrow lift, recovery only takes about 3 days.

TIP: recovery eyebrow lift takes place optimally if you follow the prescribed guidelines carefully. You will receive these from your surgeon at Wellness Kliniek.

Can you drive a car after a brow lift?

You may go home immediately after a brow lift, but should not drive a car for the first 24 hours. We recommend taking someone with you who can drive you home. If this is not possible, you can book a room (near) the clinic.

Do I still look like myself after an eyebrow lift?

Eyebrow correction aims to reverse the ageing process, which is why it is often stated that you will look about 10 years younger with an eyebrow lift. Of course, you will still look like yourself. The surgeons at Wellness Kliniek aim for a natural result, with even eyebrows that are positioned more beautifully.

How often should I repeat a brow lift?

For a non-surgical procedure like B***x or eyebrow thread lift, a repeat is recommended every 6 to 24 months, depending on your personal facial features and the persistence of the effect. Surgical eyebrow correction gives the desired result for some for life. Others have a touch-up done once every 15 years. This is a personal choice as to what is desirable for you.

What is the best age for eyebrow lifts?

You can have your eyebrows lifted from an age of 18 and up, provided your skin condition allows it. The age at Wellness Kliniek for non-surgical eyebrow lifts, such as with B***x or thread lift varies between 25 years and 75 years. The average age at Wellness Kliniek for surgical eyebrow lifts is 57 years.
During the consultation, you will receive honest advice on whether eyebrow lifting is possible and desirable for you, and what to expect from the result.

What are the eyebrow lift advantages and disadvantages?

The brow lift offers benefits from both an aesthetic and functional point of view. For instance, it makes the look fresher and more open, and can also reduce headaches and pressure on the head. You are less likely to get tired if you previously suffered from heavy eyebrows.

At Wellness Kliniek, we also like to be transparent about the eyebrow lift disadvantages. For instance, you can only see the final result after a few months, unless you opt for the brow lift without surgery (non-surgical), but then repeat treatments are desirable.

Furthermore, the brow lift gives minimal risk of complications, but as with any surgery on the body, you need to consider certain guidelines for recovery and aftercare (at home) after the procedure. If this is not a problem for you, then a brow lift can greatly improve your quality of life, both physically and emotionally.

Fluid retention after eyebrow lift, is it normal?

Yes, fluid retention after a brow lift is normal, especially in the first week after the procedure. You mainly notice this by swelling in the first few days after the procedure, around the treated area. This is a natural reaction, which gives a temporary feeling of tightness and stiffness, but which dissipates quickly.

What are tips and living rules after a brow lift?

Depending on the specific procedure, the surgeon will give you a sheet with the living rules for at home. So you know exactly what is and is not recommended. To give you an indication, here are a few tips and living rules after eyebrow lift (surgical).

  • How to sleep after eyebrow lift? Preferably on the back, so that wounds and sutures are protected during sleep. Optionally with extra pillow.
  • Can you do sports after eyebrow lift? In the first two weeks after treatment, sports and heavy physical exercise are not recommended. Walking is allowed.
  • Can you sunbathe after eyebrow lift? Both tanning beds and sunbathing in the sun are not recommended in the first six weeks after the procedure, unless the scars are properly covered (in connection with pigmentation).
  • Can you wear make-up after eyebrow lift? This is not recommended until two weeks after the procedure, unless specifically stated otherwise by the surgeon.
