During a Brazilian butt lift, the surgeon takes fat from the hips, waist, legs, or abdomen with liposuction. This fat is then purified by extracting the dead and damaged cells. The surgeon then injects the purified fat cells in the areas where more volume is desired. In a Brazilian bill lift, that volume comes in mainly on the upper part of the buttocks.
The amount of fat removed does not match the amount of fat injected. The surgeon can usually remove 800 cc to 1,500 cc of fat from one or two liposuction areas. The removed fat cells are purified into healthy graft fat that can be used as a filler. Half the volume remains. Per buttock, it is thus possible to successfully inject 200 cc to 350 cc of fat at the same time.
If you want more volume, the doctor needs more fat to achieve the desired result. For greater fat volume, 400 cc to 700 cc per buttock can be injected. There must then be sufficient fat (1,600 cc to 2,800 cc). This fat is usually harvested from multiple liposuction areas. This makes the BBL treatment more expensive. Indeed, the BBL price depends on the number of liposuction zones.
In some cases, multiple procedures are needed to achieve the intended result. Optionally, the remaining fat can also be used for other lipofilling procedures, for example in the face. The surgeon will always carefully discuss the options with you in advance.
