A thread lift will take approximately 20 to 40 minutes and is performed under local anaesthetic or intravenous anaesthesia. You can go home on the same day and you will recover quickly, almost immediately. Sometimes, patients need a day or two at home to recover fully. Over those two days, any swelling will normally clear up.
The surgeon will make tiny incisions of around 0.5 cm below the skin to be able to insert special threads subcutaneously. These threads are intended to lift the weakened tissue. The tissue can subsequently affix itself to the new location, while the threads dissolve slowly in the meantime. You will not have any permanent threads in your body. This is what makes the procedure extremely safe and effective!
