Liposuction
Liposuction is the general term for the removal of excess fat.

Today we prefer the term Liposculpture because we don't just want to remove the fat, we especially want to give the body a more pleasing shape.
Liposuction is a collective name for 'having the fat removed' by suction.
Modern Liposculpture
In the Wellness Kliniek we use the modern SWL method combined with the PAL method:

Liposculpture without scarring
We make a number of small incisions in the skin (about 3mm) where little or no scarring occurs.
- The incisions are not sutured so that the body can get rid of any excess liquid.
- This helps the healing process.
- After 2 days there is no more leakage from the wounds.
- A few weeks later there is hardly any evidence of the procedure having been performed.
Anaesthetic during Liposculpture
You can decide for yourself whether you want to have your treatment performed under:

- Intravenous sedation
If several areas are to be treated we do advise intravenous sedation.

Liposuction - liposculpture doesn't offer general weight loss:
1 litre of fat weighs 400 grams
Even after liposuction treatment in 4 to 5 areas of the body you will barely notice a difference in your weight.

Lipotransfer is the general term for transplanting fat.

The doctor removes fat from a particular area in order to transplant it somewhere else.
Transplanting fat (filling with fat) is also called Lipofilling.
Ultrasound - Assisted Liposuction
Ultrasound Liposculpture:
an outdated method:
- the treatment takes 3 times longer than PAL / SWL
- increased risk of infection
- can cause burns
- less effective results
Mega - Liposculpture
We remove a maximum of 4 - 5 litres of fat per treatment session.
We can spread this maximum volume over several areas.
Larger quantities result in increased risk: especially toxic side-effects.
